After being bumped from AA flight 1801 and rebooked on flight 408 (the AA ticket counter person was very helpful with that aspect) our 8-month old baby came down with a severe ear infection and the doctor said should not fly for an additional 3 days due to the very real possibility of a ruptured ear drum leading to lifelong problems . When I tried to switch the ticket I was told there was nothing they could do and it would be cheaper to simply buy two new tickets (one for myself and my 5 year old as the baby was sitting on my lap) - amazing how when they overbook they can be more than accommodating but when it doesn't serve their best interest they stick it to the very people who support them. This is the very last time I will fly AA - I will instead go to where my business is appreciated.
