Angry Westjet Complaint

The tvs have not functioned correctly or at all on my last 4 westjet flights! No explanation given. A passenger sitting in the seat beside the emergency exit complained his seat tilts downwards. Apparently this is to allow for emergency egress. In this day and age surely a proper seat/emergency interface can be designed.

Unhappy WestJet has no fuel in Sint Maarten

On January 19, 2012, there was "no fuel" for WestJet flight 2653 at Princess Juliana Airport in Sint Maarten. We were diverted to Luis Munoz Marin Airport in Puerto Rico where the plane was refueled with all passsengers on board. After takeoff to Toronto, cabin crew said they had run out of water. Did not offer scotch to replace water. Our four hour flight became six hours. Missed Toronto connection. Naturally, WestJet not responsible for anything.

Not so much as wont....but can't fuel for the round trip. The aircraft simply doesn't carry enough fuel for the round trip when considering required reserve fuel on both ends of the flight and potential alternates for those as well. You would need enough fuel for Toronto to Saint Maartin plus the fuel to get to an alternate airport then fuel for another 45 minutes after that....minimum, now consider the same for the return flight to Toronto and you simply can't carry enough fuel. It would be like saying why don't you just put enough fuel in your car to drive from Toronto to Seattle because it's cheaper at home. Tech stops for fuel are quite common on longer routes, especially in places where fuel availability is spotty.
