Not allowed to change a business class flight
Being based in Asia I have not needed to use BA in more than 20 years. This summer I have a trip to Paris on Thai followed by a BA flight from Paris to London for a family wedding. All flights are in business class. Thai contacted me a month ago to say that my return flight to Bangkok has been cancelled and that I have been booked on the same flight the following day. I such I contacted BA to change my LHR-Paris flight to match the Thai schedule but was told that I could not do so as I had booked the cheapest business class fare. I have contacted BA twice more to impress on them that the change of date was not of my making but that of Thai, however the useless person in customer non-relations has stood firm and said simply "no". To make matters this person has finished off emails with "we look forward to serving you again", to which I have replied "no chance". Although I live in Asia my two grown up kids live in the UK and travel back to Asia on an annual basis. I know this as I pay for their air tickets! They quite often travel back on BA, but never again. This company needs a lesson in customer satisfaction.

Yes there are fares that are non changeable but they do give you the best value for money in terms purely of cost! For that lower cost they are restricted, however if you book this on Ba.com you are advised of the fare rules and if booking over the phone the sales agent should also advise this. Unfortunaty in this case if you have booked another seperate flight with another airline BA have no obligation to change the ticket or apply anything different than the fare rules unfortunately. It does for this reason pay you to book flights under one booking and one airline. If both flight were BA and ticketed by BA they would have rebooked you to make sure you could make flights.
