This happened in Hong Kong. If this happened in my state (Wyoming) this woman’s behavior meets the definition of disorderly conduct. She’s screaming and flailing her arms about in a public place. On the other hand, I grew-up not far from New York City. You see a lot of people act like this there. Indeed, if it weren’t for the Port Authority Police, this woman could probably do this at JFK, and only half the people would pay attention.

As to MY call on this woman? If say, I was the airport manager? US airports aren’t Greyhound Bus terminals—not yet anyway—and, if nothing was done, the merchants might start screaming (understandably,) so, yes, I’d bust her.

As it turns-out, she was NOT arrested. AND, the airline, Cathay Pacific, allowed her to board a flight to her original destination—San Francisco! (well, where else!) As Keith Olbermann said of this woman: “God help everyone on that flight if her first choice of a meal was gone!” In any case I think I found an airline that must have a very low rate of calls to the cops!

I wonder if her husband decided to go with her. :D

Unless she had just been told of the death of someone dear, there is NO way they should have boarded her. If I was a passengar on that flight I would have wanted her not boarded. Just what you need to be over the Pacific when she has an outburst. Shame on Cathay Pacific for not ensuring the safety of its other passengars.

It's funny because I caught this vid even before the original post and thought, "hmmmm, I wonder what the folks over at AirlineComplaints.org would think of this!" Perhaps she was able to take some tranquilizers and made the trip without further incident.

Bonkers, yes...but lets not get too carried away with the hyperbole. She is hardly a threat to the SAFETY of other passengers, unless you count the potential damage to their ear drums.

Not to be confused with "third world refugee camp:" The image one sees, usually in a major US airport, during a period of bad weather, or other occasions when flight operations are neglegable to non-existant, and during the approximately 3 to 4 days following the point at which said operations return to normal.

At least we are not going on wagon trains anymore, you think US-based airlines are bad I am sure a many month trip across country in a wagon train was alot worse.
Yes she does cause a safety issue for other passengars, if she has a outburst like that on the plane in flight, no telling who she could hurt, while I have been taught to defend myself, I don't want to have to try and do it on a airplane because some airline didn't have the balls to call the cops and keep a crazy person off their airplane.

Just shoot her with an elephant dart. Threat averted! Next?

She acted like that because she missed the flight? I don't think she needs to spend time in jail, I think she needs a mental evaluation. That is defiantly not normal behavior.

As far as not calling the police, I think there is one important fact that Butch conveniently left out - that is the apparent lack of airline staff. I'm not sure who the others are that are there, but when she went banging on the boarding pass reader and near the computers, nobody tried to stop her. Also, none of the people visible have and airport ID on. So, it looks like Cathay Pacific may have not been aware of this when she went to get rebooked.
