Lufthansa strike leaves thousands stranded

Lots of info out there so I thought I'd bring some in here. Tragic what will happen to thousands of passengers and neither side honestly cares.

Looks like the strike was short-lived. Good news for LH travelers. This from LH's website.

Pilot strike has been suspended
Lufthansa confirms that the strike has been suspended.
The consequences of the strike will lead to continued flight irregularities in the following days.

And now BA cabin crew have just voted to strike...although it looks at though BA will be well prepared for this and seems to have advanced plans to fly even without the cabin crew by chartering other airlines to fly the routes and by training other staff to work as cabin crew.

my captain and i were talking about this yesterday. he told me that BA pilots were training as flight attendants in case of a strike. tell ya, would love to see our pilots as flight attendants for a day

It is true, and futhermore they are volunteering for the training... they are not being paid by BA..!! Whatever the outcome, BA are going to have to do some work to repair relationships between CC and Flight Deck.. that could even have implications for CRM
