It's possible there was a change in the aircraft. That messes up the reserved seating sometimes. It's hard to fix when other people check in and take the seats you reserved when there is an aircraft change. It's a little bit easier to change at the gates than it is at the ticket counter once everyone has checked in, though. When we need to move other passengers to accomodate a family, we need to page those other passengers up and notify them that we need to change their seats.
