On August 13, 2006, my family was taking Delta for a family wedding. Before we boarded the plane, I blacked out and was having a seizure. The whole family had to cancel the trip because I ended up in Intensive Care at the hospital.
After I was released from the hospital, my husband started to work on getting the tickets taken care of. He spoke with a nice woman named Mrs.. Johnson at Delta in Atlanta, who documented the Medical emergency and waived the penalty fees for changing the tickets. He was told we had until August 31, 2007 to use the tickets.
Now that I am trying to redeem the tickets, I am being told that they expired on February 4, 2007, because that was a year from their purchase date. This is very distressing to me and I feel it is also unjust, as we were guaranteed the tickets were good until a year from the date of the flight, not the date of the original purchase.
I am sending the ticket numbers to you in the hope that this matter can be settled. Please take into consideration that the thought of losing $2,193.20 because of a break-down in communication is hard to take. Thank you for help in this matter.
Sincerely,
Leslie G.
