We were flying to Russia with stop over in Madrid.
In ticket was 24 of June,
Out ticket was scheduled on 2 of Mar (we planned our second visit to Russia on Feb but didn't know when we will return from Russia this summer - we were going to buy a ticket a bit later).
"Security" officer stopped my wife before boarding claiming that Russian border control will not allow her to enter. Visa-free agreement never speaks about return ticket - completely non-professional. Then Iberia stuff decided to rebook Out ticket such that return was less than 90 days.
As a result we now rebooked a ticket to the needed day and lost 300USD.
Of course Russian border control never asked about returned ticket
