I am trying to use the aadvantage miles that I have accumulated over a year. However, the only flight that I qualify is to go to Las Vegas, which is about a couple of hours flight from where I reside. Normally, you can travel between these two cities in a direct flight for a couple of hours. However, to be able to use the aadvantage miles the only itinerary I can use will take 3 planes and 14 hours of trip. Then, the aadvantage miles do expire which means that they have to be used or will be lost. In the past miles were never lost because of expiration and airlines offered much better alternatives or service to the customers. In addition, if you did not want to fly you could use your miles to purchase stuff. This cannot be done either. You are stuck with WORTHLESS MILES
