Delta First Class is far from it! Customer Service could care less!
We traveled on Delta flight 338 on Jan 16 in what Delta calls the First Class cabin from GDL to Atl (later on to Philadelphia). The cold breakfast we were served should have been an embarrassment to Delta. Two wafer thin slices of ham on a Croissant, yogurt and fruit. The flight was International and left at 8am. We had been traveling to the airport, clearing Mexican Immigration, checking-in etc for more than 3 hours prior to the flight. We were hungry!
After we were done with "breakfast" I asked for a magazine .... how dare I! The stewardess laughed out loud at me and made the tacky comment heard by everyone in the cabin "A magazine? I can't remember the last time I saw a magazine on an airplane!" (I assume it was her intention to denegrate me so that I would not ask for anything else!)
Well, just 45 days earlier we had flown Aeromexico from GDL to Phoenix and there were lots of mags and newpsapers in FC. Also they served a hot breakfast to everyone in the plane!
About an hour after that incident I dared to ask about the movie ... no, no movie on this International flight of 4 hours duration! Turns out the equipment is too small for screens (too old I would guess). In a similar situation a year before when we flew Mexicana FC to Toronto that airline offered mini-screens brought to each passenger.
No, Delta charges for First Class but gives you somewhere between 2nd and 3rd with insulting cabin crew thrown in for good measure!
I encourage anyone flying to and from Mexico to use the smaller national airlines not the largest airline in the world! (free drinks in tourist class too)
