Hi fellow members,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my complaint.
I know I posted in the aircanada forum, its because I saw another Tam unsatisfied customer there.

I bought the ticket through the travel agency BACC travel. But before I did this I explained to them that I wanted a baby basket for my newborn. They didnt really look into it because the agent just asked her supervisor if I can purchase the baby's ticket separately, which is what I wanted.

Anyway I called TAM just to confirm this info before I actually bought the ticket and they told me yes it can be done to. Nobody checked to see what plane we would be using because not all planes have this availability.

Long story short, I bought the tickets and went to the TAm office near my house to purchase the baby's ticket. The person in the TAM office didnt even check if the planes had this availability.

Well after spending 4 hours on the phone, TAM told me they changed the plane and it now has the baby basket availability! I am not kidding 4 hours everyone plus another 2 hours before that with questions about traveling with a newborn and another hour with BACC travel.

TAM said that the basket is confirmed so we will see. I am not holding my breath because they always change things on us. They left my 70 year old mother at the airport in Sao Paulo once when they said there would be someone to help her. My mom almost had a heart attack making the connection because it was so close.

Anyway all airlines have this lack of communication problem but its just amazing things cant be resolved quicker. After spending so much time and aggravation why would I want to fly again. I have long lines, metal detector checkpoints, swine flu and faulty Airbus jets to deal with so who needs this? They should be paying us!

Hope this helps some parents flying with their newborns. Thanks again to the members who responded. Best wishes and good luck.

Jon.
