We booked a vacation to Grand Cayman and were to fly on American Airlines. We normally flew USAir with minimal issues. We arrive an hour and a half before our 0600 departure to find out that the plane did not arrive in Columbus. They played on the computer for over 30 minutes and 3 different attendants without telling us what was going on. They finally tell us they have rebooked us through Dallas and Houston arriving 5 hours later than our original time and tell us to run as flight is already boarding... We had not even been thru security so we do not make the flight but our luggage does...the attendant at the gate said we should have never been put on that flight as there was no way we would make it. She rebooked us through Charlotte getting in an hour after our original ETA. We arrive in Grand Cayman expecting our luggage to arrive 3 hours later... Nope it didn't arrive for 3 days.... Then the flight home we arrive in Miami and board our plane...we sit in the gate for 2 + hours while they work on the air conditioning. We finally get green light to depart taxi out to take off only to have the plane turn around as the captain is now out of hours...
