They refused to speak English on a flight from Kiev to Bucherest?! It is outrageous, whatever next! I was on a flight from Ohio to Wyoming not so long ago and the staff refused to speak Russian! I couldn't believe it! The worlds gone mad!

what you talk about??? In case you didnt know, every airline operating internationally MUST speak English! There is also besides the point the fact that I am no Russian, do not speak Russian and most of the other passengers on board did not.

Wrong. Air traffic communications are supposed to be in English, although are often not. There is no requirement for cabin or ground staff to speak English. I never said you were Russian or speak Russian. Perhaps sarcasm is lost in translation.

whatever. In case you wonder, Bucharest is Romania, Kiev is Ukraina and Chisinau is Rep. of Moldova. So, yeah, really like flying from Ohio to Wyoming...

I know perfectly well where they are. Last time I looked, English is not the official language in any of those countries. Why would they be required to speak English. It is just as illogical as me expecting staff to speak Russian in Ohio.

Thumbs down Aerosvit 32 Hour Nightmare!

Just returned from a flight with the airline from hell. Aerosvit Airlines and it's staff are a poor excuse for and airline and for staff. The outbound flight from Bangkok to Kiev was a warning, but hey I like adventure. Boarded the plane in Bangkok and was greeted with a plane that was probably 1980's vintage, no inflight entertainment, no smiles and food that smelled like crap! Seat was about as comfortable as a bus on the way to prison. OK I got there, but the real story was trying to get back to Bangkok. Arrived in Prague 3 hours ahead like most airlines, the staff arrived 2 hours before flight. Checked in and only a boarding pass for the Prague to Kiev flight. I asked why and the guy said security check in Kiev. I smelled a rat (the guy knew of the canceled flight) Sure enough arrived in Kiev, told the flight was canceled. There were 60 of us with no flight. The staff was rude and lied time after time. We were given options. Wait 2 days in Kiev for the next Aerosvit flight or take the flight from Kiev to Moscow, and then Moscow-Bangkok. We had to pay to stay at the hotel and for food if we chose to wait in Kiev. No problem right? Well they collected our passports, tickets and disappeared for 3 hours. Came back and said only 20 people could go. So what next. They had a flight to Istanbul-Bangkok on Turkish Airlines. Disappeared again! Showed up with tickets good for a flight on Turkish Airlines (a real airlines). The flight to Istanbul was delayed an hour, gates changed 4 times and finally we would get on. We asked will we make it in time. They said no problem. 1 hour time difference and you will have 2 hours to make the flight to Bangkok. They said someone would be in Istanbul from Aero, but in usual fashion, no one! We found our way to tranfer desk in Istanbul. They said the plane was leaving and on the runway. So what would we do? They called Aero**** and they said that no one would be in the office to help us until 7 am the next day. We had no boarding pass, could not leave the arrivals area, no food, and no water. We we were angry to say the least. The guy was great from the Istanbul Airport Transfer Desk said, we had no choice, but wait. He said this happens all the time. They should not be allowed to fly! We found a flight on Turkish Airlines leaving at 00:40 for Bangkok. Our ticket voucher from Aero was not good for the flight. By the way the group that went to Moscow were stuck in Moscow. So we started to get ****** as a group, asked what they could do. Nothing!!! Aeor**** responsibility! We asked for a Manager! They called everywhere and tried to get an Aero**** person to help. Answer was wait until 7am the next day. Tried everything! Finally we got a Manager from Turkish Airways and his staff to help. They said that they would try to get us on the 00:40 flight. They were frantically working, got the woman who was able to authorize the flight out of bed. She came in and the short of it was that we got on the flight and were greeted with smiles, on time departure, and more smiles. Aero**** could have given a crap about sending our group to 2 different countries to get flights that they knew we could not make. They did not wat to deal with it and sent us to Moscow and Turkey. It took 32 hours for a 13 hour flight. This airlines is a fourth rate, lying, group of the most un-professional people I have ever had to deal with. It was like the Soviet style of dealing with things. No one took responsibility for anything except for taking our money. No customer service, lying, and cheating. I wondered why the Ukrainians clapped when the plane landed in Kiev? They were happy to be alive and to have made it. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS FLY THIS AIRLINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PAY A BIT MORE AND INSURE THAT YOU WILL GET WHERE YOU WANT TO GO!!!! If it wern't for Turkish Airlines helping this group of stranded passengers we would still be in Kiev trying to get home. It appears that the whole country of Ukrainia is a scam. Oh we don't have enough Euros for your change, it will be my tip at the bar! You wonder why the put political prisoners in jail? It's because they challenge the status quo. NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINES OR VISIT THIS COUNTRY!

PS: Turkish Airlines found our luggage, got it on board the BKK flight and it was there when we arrived. Now that was customer service! TA was great and went beyond what they needed to do to take care of us!!!!!!!!

Well done to Turkish airlines. I hope you will choose them in future so they are rewarded for their good service. Sounds like Aerosvit got their customer service training from Delta or Spirit.
