Default should CEO's fly on commercial airlines?

i was watching world news tonight abc yesterday. they were talking about how GM chrysler and ford are asking for a bailout. they commitee asked how did you get to Washington DC? all three of them said private jet. and a private jet is about 5 million dollars or 50 million dollars. whooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaa! that's wasting some money there. hey! why don't they just hop on a commercial flight biz class or economy and get there? and it could cost you at least $700 round trip. this suprises me. i have heard of many politicians who fly commercial flights.
What do you think?

100% YES!!! they spend $20,000 on a roundtrip ticket on a private jet....they can fly coach for $280 to DC or even first class for $800. i saw that on tv. the CEO's excuse was that he had other meetings in the morning....yeah well if that was the case....FLY THE NIGHT BEFORE!!! its disgusting that they want this bailout, yet their flying around in private jets.

Just like anyone else, CEO's should be allowed to do whatever they want (as long as it is legal).

They just need to understand the implications and appearances when they do stupid actions like taking private jets to DC to ask for bailout funds.

As for the politicos, there are a good number that fly commercially both for personnel and profession use and then again, there are some who fly private jets. Fiscal responsibility and public appearance sometimes take a back seat to luxary and convienence.

I watched it on CNN and the best part was when the senator asked them if any of them will fly back commercially, none of them raised their hands. Beautiful. and I agree with abutters: there's a time when the need arises to fly privately, however for the most part they should stay commercial.

i think all of you have good answers. if they really had to fly on a private jet they could have just all gone on one jet. they are all going to dc from detroit and back so why not hitch a road together?

I wonder who the bailouts would benefit... the working class of that company? or the CEOs and their contracted pay?

Smile Points

The Heads of the Big Three have such large egos that none would be in the same room as the other let alone share a jet.

Flying in coach on a dometic carrier (constantly) would be a nice punishment for any OVER COMPENSATED CEO of a failing company or one that took BAILOUT MONEY.

It would be a very inhumane type of torture.
