First, the flight was cancelled. When I tried to call Delta at approximately 11:30, all lines said the hold time was 3+ hours and to leave a number for them to call me back. They called me back at 5:50 pm - after I had already finished the first flight of my trip. There was no way to speak with a Delta rep.
After the cancellation, I was automatically rebooked on a flight with two very short layovers - one in Dallas and one in Atlanta. I was traveling with my 10 month old daughter alone. Again, because I could not get anyone on the phone, there was no way to change it.
I was also rebooked on an American Airlines flight without my knowledge. I found that out at the airport. Because only the first flight was on AA - AA left my bags in Dallas (I am guessing, they still haven't found them). I tried to report it to the Delta baggage claim and they quickly told me it wasn't there problem and did NOTHING to help besides send me to a CLOSED AA ticket counter to report the claim to the empty counter, I guess.
Great trip Delta. Since you are going to book me on an AA flight for them to loose my bags, I might as well fly them to start with instead of bothering with Delta.
