I'd suggest you do your homework and make a more informed choice if your major consideration is, indeed, on-time performance. Southwest used to be near the top of the list for on-time performance. Not so much any more. For the past six months guess how many times US Airways beat Southwest? Every time. Here are the numbers.

Unless Southwest flies non-stop to your destination and US Airways does not, statistically you'd be better off staying with US Airways unless the fares on Southwest are significantly less. Just don't base your decision on one bad experience. The numbers speak for themselves.
