Mr. Corbel:
People who fly to international destinations expect certain "amenities." Fresh pillows, blankets, food, headsets, clean seat storage pouch etc, are some of them. Items, such as personal video screen, perhaps not important in your view, could alter customer perception of the airline and could cost the airline valuable customer base.
When I flew Delta from Shanghai to Atlanta, contrary to advertisement of a full reclining seat in business class, Delta provided a generic business class seat. Next time, I chose a competitor airline that provided such a feature.
