Air Canada cancels seats reservation and separates kids from parents
We were a family of four that took AC837 on July 24, 2011 from Madrid to Toronto. Even though Air Canada had confirmed seat reservations about two months in advance, these were cancelled. Air Canada gave us 4 random seats with the children separated from the parents.
We were not the only family - they did this to everyone.
Air Canada staff at Madrid (Maria Lopez #13) refused to help in anyway to get seats together. I think the ground staff has no flexibility at all in this regard. Just to be clear we checked in 3 hrs early.
The plane was two hours late at take-off and the pilot talked about a slight delay. Almost half the passengers missed their connection. Even though it was obvious that we had lost our connections, Air Canada told us to rush to the gates. No information on missed connections was anjnounced at all.
Overall just very unfriendly service with no concern at all for customers
