Angry Dont buy a ticket on British Airways website

I bought a $ 3,400 dollar ticket on BA.COM U.S. website and was quoted the price in U.S. dollars. When i got the bill from my charge card BA.COM charged me $300 foreign transaction fee because they processed the charge thru their London office. I called Bank Of America and they told me that i had to contact BA. I have contacted BA four times about this charge and they tell me that i have to file a complaint thru their website. They have not responded to my complaints after a month of waiting. I talked to their representatives on the phone and in person at the airport and they all agree that I should not been charged this fee but they can't don anything about it and i have to go thru their complaint dept on their website. Why ever buy a ticket on BA.com when you can buy on Kayak.com or Expedia and not have to pay a foreign transaction fee. Of course BA doesn't tell you this when you buy the ticket on their U.S. website. They just charge to your charge card bill. No disclosure and what really irks me is the price was quoted to me in U.S. Dollars and they do this bait and switch thing and run the charge thru their London office and stick it to you with a foreign transaction fee. I hope this is helpful to other travelers NOT to buy the ticket on BA.Com and use another travel website instead so you don't get screwed like I did with British Airways and then get the run around for weeks with no one to respond to. Shame on you British Airlines. Shame on you.

Contest the charge with your credit card company. This is irregular. Was your credit card issued in the US? Did you definitely use BA.COM US site. There are a number of options you can choose. Do you live in the US? If so, we're you asked this question? If you live in a nonUS country, they may process it through London. I would fight ths charge, va BA and the credit card company. It is outrageous.
