On a non-stop flight from LAX to Albuquerque on Feb 2, 2009, I checked one bag -- fairly standard sized soft side black suitcase, but too large to carry on. Contents were typical clothes and sundries, AND ONE CD CASE WITH ABOUT 20 CD'S in it. Luggage did not make it to LAX (non-stop flight), and after nearly a month of complaining and effort, Southwest now advises me they have given up the search. Same thing happend about 2 years ago (DVD's were in that bag). Southwest should not call their employees luggage handlers. Just shorten it to LT's (or Luggage Theives).
NEVER CHECK LUGGAGE ON SWA. NEVER FLY ON SWA IF YOU CAN AVOID IT! |

I do remember a sting operation where cameras were trained on luggage handlers and they were caught rifling through baggage. This was some time ago and I don't remember which airline, but this probably happens to most, if not all of them. This is not an indictment to all baggage handlers, but in every job, there's always one or more bad apples.
