Denied check in - Scoot check in counter
This is with Singapore Airlines budget carrier - Scoot.
I have this problem with my planned travel, and need some help / advise / assistance please.
I went to check in to Scoot airlines flight TR19 on the 26th of April in Melbourne, flying to Singapore, then to a connecting flight to London. When I gave them my passport, they advised they would not check me in, as the passport has less than 6 months left before expiring. It has 5 months left.
I went to renew my passport several weeks prior, after an automated email from the passport office prompted me to do so, but the post office advised they could not guarantee the new one would arrive prior to my departure, and to use the existing one.
As a result of not being able to catch this flight, all my subsequent bookings for flights and accommodation have been largely lost, and I will lose upwards of $10,000 AUD, due to many not offering refunds. Scoot will not even refund this flight, or the one I had booked on my return trip on 13th May. If I wish to change the return trip, the fee to do so is more than the flight cost itself.
