One Pass is a FRAUD!
I have been a Continental customer for many years. Two years ago, I booked a flight for two using 110,000 miles to go to Eurpope. At the time, the representative was very helpful in the booking and transferred miles from my wife's account to cover the trip. I was so pleased, I wrote a letter to the president and received a very nice reply.
Fast forward to last week. I now have in excess of 130,000 miles and my wife has about 50,000. I tried to book two for the same trip I did in 2010. The retail price of the airfare is about the same now as it was then. My days were flexible and I tried to book six months in advance.
I was told there were no flights covering my time period from Aug 1 to Oct 1! How could this be? I earned the miles they promised the reward. The two representatives could not have cared less. On top of that they informed me the trip would now be 220,000 points. Twice the price of 2010!
I informed Continental and received no reply. I did manage to get one ticket in July and had to buy the other one. This will be my last Continental flight. It will also be the last time I use their card. They claim to have the best frequent flyer program in the industry. I would hate to see #2! Take my advice. Do not trust them. Get a credit card that gives cash back and avoid Continental/United!
