Default BA's Poor Customer Service

BA's refusal to issue a refund or voucher for a cancelled flight due to an unexpected death in the family is just plain poor business. Unfortunately several attempts to enlighten didn't change their position so buyers beware that British Airways doesn't care about their customers when you really need them to step up. A voucher for future travel would have went a long way in satifying both parties in this type of situation. However, they took this opportunity to reveal their true customer values that is that they do not care about their customers just the bottom line.

In the past too many people have gamed the system thus airlines like a lot of businesses aren't inclined to offer a refund. Blame fellow passengers for screwing it up for the rest of us.

Attention all you good people. If you have not noticed, BURGER is a paid public relations hitman for the airline industry. He will have you thinking White is Black and Black is White. Just tell your experience and push for justice.

Kevin, unfortunately airlines have become real businesses that have to make money and they are not inclined (or required) to show any compassion whatsoever to their customers.. However, did you do anything help yourself? What sort of ticket did you buy? Was it refundable? or just the cheapest non refundable and non changeable that you could find? When they offered you travel insurance for $16.00 did you take it?

Was the flight booked direct with BA?? I work for BA and i know if you booked with BA direct then usually yes in this case a refund is possible given you can provide the death certficate as proof. It can become dificult if you booked through a travel agent as you in effect paid the money to them and they are resposible for any refund.

Default Since you are on the inside, what do think?

Hello

@anonymouscomments, maybe you can tell me what I am up against.

I have put the details of my issue here http://www.airlinecomplaints.org/showthread.php?t=12141

We've already had 5 rounds of repeating ourselves and I am considering getting legal advice.
From your experience, any advice?

Thanks
