Default Paid for preassigned seats.

We left Athens Greece on 01/08/2016 for London. Our flight was delayed by half an hour or so. When we arrived at Heathrow we circled the airport for additional 20 minutes. When we finally landed, we had missed our connecting flight to Boston. They offered us a 10-pound voucher to any restaurant at the airport. We had paid $64 extra per person for pre selecting our seats. This would guarantee we would be sitting together (One seat next to the window and the other on the aisle). They booked us on their next flight and gave us two aisle seats without reimbursing us for the extra cost of our old seats. They didn't offer us anything to make up for this inconvenience. Our regular tickets were premium economy. It would have made perfect sense to upgrade us to business class since they had plenty of empty seats

You're never guaranteed seat numbers even if you pay. You should read the terms and conditions of your ticket.

And it really is a disgrace and should be illegal. You pay for a service (bags or pre assigned seats) and when you dont get the extra service the answer is "well we didnt GURANTEE it so we are going to keep your money. I don't know og any other inductry that sells you something then refuses to refund your money when the item is not supplied.

I hope you paid the seat charges bt credit card as you should IMMEDIATELY dispute the chages with your credit card company.

Default You DO get a refund...

I say again, read the Ts&cs.

You do get a refund if you don't travel in the seats you paid for.

Once a flight has departed, and you are marked no show for any segment, but are reaccomadated with the next departure out, that agents working on the rebooking, will try to get you seats, but if you paid for but if they are no available, you will be given what ever they have leftover. Depending on what is available at that time.
