Exclamation Don't take the flexible fare option!

When booking a Dubai - Miami return flight for myself and my wife we paid an extra $490 (Flexible Fare) to allow us to change our return flights. When we tried we were advised we only have 24 hours from the initial flight to make the change. As the flight is more that 20 hours, this is effectively impossible. We then got stuck with a $600 change fee. Its a rip off, makes money for United no doubt, but it is not really what you could honestly describe as flexible.
