Default Turkish Airlines fiasco at SeaTac - 3 days in a row - March 15, 16, 17 2024

Turkish Airlines handling of delayed and subsequently cancelled flight SEA -IST departing on March 15, 2024 was so pathetic, unprofessional and chaotic that words cannot describe the pain and suffering of passengers and their families. For a 7:40 PM departure, the flight was boarded late, passengers sitting on plane were delayed for more than 2 hours for technical issues, left gate and returned from runway around 11 -11:30 pm. Painful, but happens, and after passengers were made to stand in lines for rebooking for next few hours on the same flight for next day. You would say, it happens - suck it up. Agree. The real chaos unfolded next day, March 16, while checking-in when Airlines didn’t know how to handle and people were standing In line for an average of 4- 5 hours- never heard of. Agents at checkin were clueless and obviously didn’t know how to handle situation and kept making up their own rules and process for check in. Most inefficient and dysfunctional chaos ever witnessed during check in, in my entire flying life of over 30 years. Anyhow, this obviously delayed the departure by 2 hours. It was the same plane from previous day and you would think they would have either fixed the technical issues or replaced the plane. NOPE! Same plane same technical issues and boarding delays and after getting on to the plane around 11 pm, plane leaves the gate, gets to the runway and after usual delays, returns to gate. Two days in a row, passengers again standing in lines for hours to rebook in the middle of night. I am sparing you all the details of baggage delays, kids and older people, sleepless nights and unimaginable consequences of people now having to change the plans 2 days in a row - people in tears - who knows what personal situation is everyone going thru when they take a trip - death in family, medical emergencies, - some I heard during hours standing in lines for rebookings, checkin and otherwise waiting for boarding and inside plane. Now, as of morning of March 17, passengers are still not certain they will be flying out today or not. Every connecting flight, next set of flights in itinerary, hotels, and personal appointments -all need to be revised. And to top it off, airlines is so insensitive and numb to the passengers plight that not a single apology from anyone and agents shouting at frustrated passengers who still don’t know when and whether they will get back.

Please share your experience and let others who are affected by this know. I’ll share my updates - once we start checkin for the third time
