Flight canceled "3" times - Dallas to Houston Hobb
My wife and I had arrived at DFW on Sunday, 7/1/07, on AA 1676 at approx. 1:45 p.m. AA 3465 was scheduled to depart at 2:45 p.m. for Houston Hobby. Right before we were to board at 2:15 p.m., there was an announcement that AA 3465 had been canceled due to weather. We noticed that there wasn't even an airplane to be boarded. I immediately got in line and there were no other flights available to Houston Hobby until the next morning, so we were able to get reservations on AA 1591 departing at 7:15 p.m. 7/1/07, but it was going to Houston George Bush instead of Houston Hobby, where our luggage was going. A few minutes later, we found out that we could get on an earlier flight to Houston George Bush departing at 3:15 p.m. so we changed our reservation for that flight. Well, it was canceled. I found out that AA had not canceled our reservations for AA 1591 so we still had seats on that flight leaving at 7:15 p.m. Before the night was over, we were told that the flight was delayed until 8:00 pm. and then we had to go to Terminal C because 3 AA planes were scheduled out of the same gate. Now AA 1591 was suppose to depart at 9:00 p.m., then 10:00 p.m., then 10:30 p.m. and we finally left at 11: 30 p.m. As it turns out, we learned that most of the delays were due to lack of a full crew and when we did finally get on the plane, we were told that if we didn't depart within 20 minutes, the pilots would be out of time! When we arrived at Houston George Bush, we then had to get to Houston Hobby to pick up our luggage and finally arrived at our home in Angleton, Texas at 2:20 a.m. American Airlines needs to tell customers the truth instead of leading us on with false times. The truth was told to us by a flight attendant, which we appreciated. It seems American Airlines has forgotten about customer service and telling the truth when there are problems.
