I was flying from Delhi to London by BA142 on July 18, 2023.
The flight was delayed by more than 4 hours. Because of this I would miss my connecting flight from London to Chicago.
At check-in in Delhi I was offered connecting flights from London to Paris and then from Paris to Chicago. With layover of over 3 hours at both London & Paris. I refused the hoping alternative and requested accommodation at Delhi for the night and provide me with my original itinerary the next day. I was told that it is not possible. When I did not agree on the route being offered and insisted on night stay in Delhi that they came out with a direct connecting flight from London to Chicago with a 6 hours lay over in London Heathrow.
That was acceptable to me but unfortunately that flight from London to Chicago BA297 also got delayed by about four hours.
