Incidental No Show for reservation
My wife made a reservation for our family to fly from Orange County CA to Oakland CA. Unfortunately she made it for the wrong day, which was a day earlier than planned. Needless to say we were not at the airport for the day the reservation was made. Southwest deemed us a no show. Their no show policy stipulates that all funds for the reservation are forfeit no matter what the situation. I called and talked to customer service operators in Dallas and tried to explain my situation. They were inflexible and stated that there was nothing that can be done. Because I never used the tickets, southwest basically robbed me of over $800. This policy needs to be eliminated or at the least more flexible as I am sure this situation has occurred many times.
BTW for all of you writing in complaints, please also go to the FAA DOT website and put your complaints in writing there also. The form is user friendly, and out of all of the complaint sites, the airline takes the FAA complaints most seriously. This is because the FAA uses these complaints to rank the airlines in customer service, lost luggage and on time performance.
