Default Baggage lost, incompetence piles up

My luggage was lost on 12/6. Paperwork was completed in accordance with this loss, and sent to central baggage - signed for on 12/29. I did not receive the "postcard" I was told to expect upon receipt of these documents. I called only to find out they had my address wrong - I have no faith any of this will be straightened out even though AA lost nearly 2,000.00 worth of my belongings. I would appreciate it if anyone out there has any idea how to bring this to a higher level. I am furious at the stunning incompentence of this  airline. Thanks.

Hi suzyz and welcome to AAcomplaints.com.

I suggest writing a letter to American Airlines Consumer Relations department with the full details of your problem. You can find the address and some tips in the "About this site" sub-forum on the main page.

Good luck and please post a follow-up so we know if your matter was resolved or left unresolved.

Thanks,
Andres

Thanks for your reply! I will write a letter (so time consuming and and sometimes pointless) I did reach a supervisor in the baggage area (just dumb luck, they are not supposed to talk to you) so she said to forget getting anything by mail acknowledging receipt of my paperwork because the address was wrong - she assured me they received it ( I already knew that) and were "intensiifying their search for my bag. So, I'll either get a call that they found my bag (not gonna happen) or in 3 months or so, I'll get some sort of a check - The whole thing puts me off bag checking in the best of circumstances. I appreciate your comments.
