Return flight ruined
Can anyone tell me if American Airlines has the ploicy of making the return flight valid for only 6 months? I wanted to postpone my trip from Chennai, India to BWI, Maryland, USA. I went online to postpone my trip and got credit for future trip (don't remember if I did it on Jetairways website - Jet Airways is in colloboration with AA- or some travel agency website). When I talked to someone at Jet Airways in Chennai, they told me contact AA since return flight are done by AA. AA told me that I can use the return flight ticket for upto one year.
Three months after this conversation, I called AA airlines today to book a return flight ticket. Initially, the lady who was the phone told me that I need to book it before Oct. 30th as that was the last day. So, I picked Oct 25th as my return date then I was put on hold then she told me that my return ticket was valid for 6 months only. So, I have to buy a new ticket for return flight.
Is this true that return flights are valid for only 6 months? If this is not true, what can I do?
