Default Ryanair

I'm trying to change a return flight date in my booking - flying from LGW to Cork return - and because there are 2 of us on the booking, and only I of us will be flying back on a different date, I can't do it on-line.

Ryanair have a list of customer service numbers that they give you for just this reason - not one of them in the UK/Ireland is operational!!!!! They just cut out the moment that they connect. I have even tried calling their central Dublin number, but was kept holding on (at a phenomenal cost) for ages, and eventually gave up in despair.

This is really typical of this airline - I detest having to travel with them, and if I had a choice, however much more it cost me, I would travel with anyone else! They have already been censured by the UK regulator for having "hidden" costs; they advertise incredibly cheap flights, and by the time that you get to the end of the booking process on-line you discover that an enormous number of additional costs have been added on. I'd surprised that they don't charge passengers for breathing on-flight!

So now I have the problem of needing to change my return flight and not being able to do so - aaarrrgh!!! What do I do???

You are probably going to have to go to the airport to make the change.

As for the fees, that's Ryanair for you. That's why the fares are cheap. But it can get interesting. If you checkin online, you don't pay to checkin, but if you checkin at the airport, you have to pay a fee (5 euros IIRC) because you are using an airport agent. However, if you are not a passport holder in Europe, you cannot checkin online. So me being from the US, I would have no choice but to pay a total of 10 Euros roundtrip just to get checked in for the flight.
