UA lied about reason for cancelled flight to save money
I sent the message on 3/3 and got no response. IF I DO NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE BEFORE 3/17/07, I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION !!!
What is your policy on customer cost coverage for flights canceled by UAL (not air traffic control or the airport, or weather)? When flight AU1495 was canceled, UAL told us after 3 hrs on hold, dropped calls, and lies, the flight was "canceled due to low hanging clouds" and that no other seats were available until 10:10 PM Monday 2/26. Upon inspection of the FAA database, flight UA1495 was canceled due to an electronics problem on the aircraft in Florida. The aircraft was repaired and arrived in Chicago later that night. According to the FAA, the only flights out of Chicago canceled or delayed due to weather on 2/25 were those heading for New York. After going outside the UAL system of lies regarding available seats, we found out thru a travel agent the there were 8 seats available on flight 1479 departing at 11:55 AM on 2/26. We secured these seats. We require UAL to cover our additional cost incurred as a result of the canceled flight AU1495. These costs include, but are not limited to, one additional night in hotel, one additional day rental car, meals, one additional day parking in Phoenix, and one day lost work for myself and my wife.
