'Special fare' then not so special today
I am extremely annoyed to find that the cost of the business class flights from Toronto to New Delhi, which I purchased for my husband and myself, in MAY 2011 has now been reduced by a total of $2200!
I purchased these non-refundable, non-transferable tickets, advertised as a special fare, in good faith at that time. I think it is reasonable to expect that fares advertised as special and subject to such restrictions would not later be so significantly reduced. I consider that Etihad has engaged in an unfair business practice in this regard.
Believe me, I do understand the need to fill airplane seats and the concept of ‘sale’ prices in an effort to do that but to now offer such a dramatic reduction in the fare after already promising me that I was buying a special fare seems quite unjust.
Furthermore, I note that the fare rules for these latest fares are significantly less restrictive than the fare I purchased; changes can be made for a penalty unlike my tickets which cannot be changed in any way.
At this time, I regret my decision to travel with Etihad.
