Iberia and Lack of communication IB6025
My daughter and friend were travelling to Rio in South America. The departure from London Heathrow was 07.25. We live 2 hours away and allowing for the 2 hours check in time - that was a very early start.
Their flight was delayed due to fog in London. They arrived in Madrid and missed their flight by 10 minutes. They were put up overnight, but ended up not leaving for Santiago - Chile - until 23.55 the following day. They then had to wait to catch the connecting flight to Rio - where they eventually arrived 48 hours late.
It is the fact that these 2 young ladies were not kept informed as to what was happening and they had to wait until they were eventually let on board a different airline.
I tried to write to Iberia - but their website is IMPOSSIBLE and I wasted 5 1/2 hours trying to input the information - ticket numbers included where as surely the flight number should have been enough! Eventually the form was submitted, but after 10 days I am still waiting for an acknowledgement that they have received it - let alone an apology for lack of information.
In this day of Customer Relations - this is a very disappointing experience and I will not be recommending anyone to travel with Iberia.
