Default Spirit steals your money

First they charged me $30 for my Service Animals carrier bag. Second I tryed to cancel my return flight and could not do it online. I had purchased return baggage and there customer service said if I cancel my flight they do not have to return the money for the bags I had paid for, for the return flight.
I feel what they are doing is against the law.

Dubious, sharp practice, outrageous and hugely irritating, but not illegal I am afraid.

Are you sure? I would think it's illegal to charge for a certified, documented service animal. All the other airlines are required to accept them, without charge, so it might be ADA or ACAA mandate.

i wonder if it counts a carrier bag as hand luggage rather than the actual service animal?

im kind of curious to what the service animal is now? is it a small dog? a goose? a small pony? a cat?

I don't think there is any regulation which gives a service animal a luggage allowance. The service animal was not charged for, but the carrier bag with his stuff in it evidently was. It might be an interesting test case, but I think you would lose.
