Membership debit will not be refunded
A debit in amount of $59.95 was taken on July 18,2011, as recorded in my bank statement. Today, on July 25, upon receipt of bank statement, a request was made to cancel the $9 Club membership and refund the annual fee. This of course was refused by supervisor who says a refund cannot be done by policy. The Spirit Airlines supervisor says email was sent and he can notice it was opened; in fact that email was opened and deleted as quickly as the last several emails which had only contained ads, but this one apparently was a reminder of the membership renewal, so membership renewed on debit card and no refund. The member is elderly and does not feel able to fly, still no refund. Shame on Spirit and apparently shame on us consumers for signing up for this membership.
