Bait and switch
Booked a ticket, paid the booking fees. American assigned a seat ( I did not request a certain seat, they gave me one). Boarding pass had seat number but at check in I was told no seat. After calling customer service, told that seat is now a premium seat BUT it wasn't when AA booked it and they never called me to discuss it or ask if I wanted to pay extra. Poor customer service and bait and switch on seat. AA says, even if we assign a seat, it isn't a contract as we only agree to take you from point a to b. Really. So I get to board last, without overhead space because of their bait and switch.

That is typical of the outrageous anti-consumer monopolies that are the US airlines. The one sidedness of the contracts are outrageous.
