AAirlines at JFK & Customer Svc
I recently paid inflated price to fly American Airlines from DCA-JFK-NRT-JFK-DCA. However, upon return flt at JFK Check-Thru I was advised at 18:00pm that my flt. (and all AA flts to DCA) were cancelled "due to weather and poor ATC Control". The rude, unprofessional, and curt AA Check-Thru Attendant said my only option was to take taxi (at my expense) to downtown NYC, find an overnight hotel (at my expense), and then come back to JFK (at my expense) next day. I asked if other airlines were flying to DCA out of JFK; she replied Yes, but they are all full (no weather problems for them). After arguing with her for 10-minutes, she finally demanded that I should take Shuttle to LaGuardia ($13.75 at my expense), and fly USAirways to DCA since weather at LaGuardia was clear, but not at JFK (B.S.). I had additional questions I wanted to ask, but AAirlines Check-thru Agent stated "I have been working since 13:00pm and I am tired. You are bothering me. Get going or I will cancel your USAirways flight reservation." Then she called for next customer and ignormed me. USAirways forced me to pay $25 for checked bag (I already paid AAirlines for same service incl Bag). I departed in clear weather and arrived DCA in clear weather 50-minutes later. When I complained to AAirlines Customer Service about this experience, and asked that they recompense me a measly $38.75 it cost me, plus give me some AAdvantage Miles to say sorry for terribly unprofessional service...I got a condescending e-mail from AA-Customer Svc that said they refuse to recompense me in any way, and that I would get no help from them. I am now thinking of posting this Complaint to all Industry Websites (e.g. Trip Advisor; Michelin; etc.), file official complaint w/FAA (maybe Transportation Dept) and AA-Hqtrs; stop flying AAirlines completely and bar my many employees from using AAirlines. Can anyone suggest more damaging avenues that I can pursue to get revenge for their callous and unprofessional treatment? Suggested complaint posting websites?
