AA 831 F Lauderdale to Dallas Cancelled
We arrived at airport at 2pm for 4.35 flight to Dallas then on to Heathrow flight delayed till 5.15 then 5.30 at 5.30 it was announced flight cancelled due to weather Dallas airport closed ( we checked later to find it wasn't ) told to collect bags & go to agent to rebook was 78 of us from a Princess cruise .When we arrived the queue was neverending one of the passengers asked to see a supervisor nobody ever came.Over 3hrs later managed to get a flight next day from Miami to Chicago then Heathrow we asked for hotel & transport voucher were declined .By now it was 9pm got a shuttle from Lauderdale to Miami $50 for the 2 of us then had to find a hotel $100.We arrived at Miami for AA 1869 5.40 flight delayed due to maintanance we would not arrive till 10pm & those on conecting flight to Heathrow would miss it GREAT,we asked for our luggage to be taken off as we decided to stay in Miami & try the following day they refused to unload luggage said we would have to pick it up from Heathrow 3 days after we returned not viable as we live over 3hrs away .Decided to catch flight & hope for the best, worse was to come.My wife is a nervous flyer as we took off there was a horrendous noise & debris flying around I looked up & one of the panels on the ceiling had come unstuck due to pressure of lift off a cabin steward went into the toilet got some paper & shoved it in then got someone from the flight deck to check it .Eventually the noise subsided but no explanation or apology my wife was in a bad way.As we had a time change on route managed to catch our conecting flight would have thought they would have known that at Miami & not worry us about missing our next flight.
We are greatly out of pocket what with transport, hotel, food etc this was our first time with AA & the last will stick to British in future.
I wrote to AA on the 5th May the automatic response said reply in 5-7 working days I am still waiting
We have contacted Princess & they say it is all down to AA
