COMPLAINT: Injured in India - Emirates owes apology & refund

Please SHARE - I've been trying with Emirates for several months now and they refuse to admit that they were WRONG....‪#‎DoTheRightThing#EmiratesAirline

In April my partner and 12 year old daughter and I were stuck in India after a cab accident on the way to the Dehli airport leaving both of them with injuries.

At the time and many times since we have contacted Emirates Airline ( in hopes of getting a refund on our return tickets that were not used. Emirates is not forthcoming.

While we had left more than ample time to reach our flight and got to the airport 45 minutes before the flight even though we had to stop at a hospital - Emirates would not hold the gate for us.

Subsequently Emirate Airline informed us that they could arrange for an alternate flight on their airline but it would not be for 7 - 9 days. This was unacceptable on so many levels, but first and foremost that we had Lily with a concussion and Pam with broken ribs. Emirate would not even try to book us on another airline.

We ended up staying another day in India and paying thousands of dollars to book a flight on another airline ourselves. Thank goodness we had credit cards to do this. That said, we are now in a financial setback that could have been avoided had Emirates stepped up and assisted.

Emirates responded that the reservation staff struggled to re-book - however somehow did not understand that it was impossible for us to remain in India for another 7 - 10 days.

Most other airlines would have 'struggled' to book us on another airline to get us home. So, in addition to a major inconvenience, we were in an unknown place with injuries that needed immediate attention. We also are now in a financial situation that is causing additional pain for me and my family. We are over the physical pain caused by the accident, but the financial burden continues to follow us.

Emirates airline is surely in a position to refund our fares. The information we provided Emirate Airline MUST warrant this. There is no understanding on our part until Emirates decides to refund.

It is our hope that Emirate will take note of this post and reconsider.
I will continue to use this and other forums as many times as is needed to get Emirates to refund and apologize.....
