COMPLAINT: Complaint and Claim Against - Turkish Airlines - Harrowing and Harassing

I HAD COMPLAINED REGARDING THE HARROWING AND HARASSING EXPERIENCE I HAD TRAVELLING WITH TURKISH AIRLINES ON AUGUST 5TH 2017 AND MADE A COMPLAINT ON BOARD, AT THE AT THE AIRPORT AND VIA EMAIL SEVERAL TIMES BUT HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU ALTHOUGH MORE THAN THREE WEEKS HAVE ELAPSED. THE COMPLAINT IS BEING RESENT AS UNDER.

This is a claim and complaint for mistreatment, rude and indifferent behaviour by Turkish Airlines staff and as well as undue harassment, aggravation, stress and hassle caused due to the delays and missed connection caused to me by Turkish Airlines.

Flying Turkish Airlines was one of the worst, horrifying, horrendous, harassing, aggravating and stressful experience I have had in the past almost 40 years of flying across the globe.

I was travelling from Houston, Texas, USA to Istanbul, Turkey on August 5th 2017 on Turkish Airlines vide attached boarding pass, ďBoarding Pass Turkish Airlines - August 5th 2017Ē to catch a connection for Dubai, UAE on August 6th 2017 on Turkish Airlines vide attached boarding pass ďBoarding Pass Turkish Airlines - August 6th 2017Ē.

Turkish Airlines flight TK - 0034 from Houston, Texas, USA to Istanbul, Turkey was to leave Houston, Texas, USA at 20:55 hours and arrive in Istanbul, Turkey at 16:50 hours - Normal Duration - 11 hours 55 minutes flight, which would have given a 1 hour 55 minutes between the next flight

Turkish Airlines flight TK - 0760 from Istanbul, Turkey to Dubai, UAE was to leave Istanbul, Turkey, USA at 18:45 hours and arrive in Dubai, UAE at 12:05 hours

However the Turkish Airlines flight left from Houston, Texas, USA at 22:23 hours and arrived in Istanbul, Turkey at 18:35 hours, a delay of 1 hour 28 minutes, - Actual Duration of delayed flight - 12 hours 12 minutes flight, leaving only 10 minutes between the next flight, and hence I missed my connection and had to take a connection almost 6 hours later in turn missing my meeting in Dubai, UAE as well.

The flight from Houston, Texas, USA got delayed by almost one and half hours and took an additional 20 minutes in flight and hence I missed the connection at Istanbul, Turkey Airport to Dubai, UAE, due to which I had unduly have a long almost 6 hours tiring wait at the Istanbul, Turkey Airport for no fault of mine.

(All timings mentioned above are in local time)

I reached the Houston, Texas, USA Airport at 18:30 hours but Turkish Airlines didnít have the courtesy to inform that the flight is delayed. At the airport also the announcement of delay came at the last moment and then we the passengers (As if we are animals) were made to stand in line from 21:10 hours for boarding for over 45 minutes without any information of the further delay causing me undue harassment, aggravation, stress and hassle at Houston, Texas, USA, Airport.

1. I requested for upgrade at the gate and the crew promised that if there would be space they would upgrade. The Business Class was half empty and when I asked for the upgrade after the flight took off they said we will and cannot upgrade and when I told them that they had promised they said our senior will get back to you and complaint against the crew who promised. Neither they nor any senior ever bothered to revert. NEVER SHALL I FLY TURKISH AIRLINE AGAIN AND SHALL ENSURE ALL FAMILY AND FRIEND DONíT TRAVEL ON IT ALSO. RATE TURKISH 1 OUT OF 10

2. I asked to change my seat as I had two ladies with babies sitting next to me on either side. The crew said we will revert but no one came back and this after the plane had many empty seats in coach class too. I had to make my own arrangements. Really rude, cold and harassing attitude. NEVER SHALL I FLY TURKISH AIRLINE AGAIN AND SHALL ENSURE ALL FAMILY AND FRIEND DONíT TRAVEL ON IT ALSO. RATE TURKISH 1 OUT OF 10

3. The food that was served for dinner in the flight was lousy, horrible and tasteless. The choice was vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The non-vegetarian was fish and that too salmon. No normal so called world class airline gives only fish as a non-vegetarian choice, they normally would have either chicken or lamb as a non-vegetarian choice too, that itself shows the airline is autocratic. The salmon was stale, bland and completely cold and the vegetables were too salty and cold. So was the rest of the food in the platter / tray. 4. I asked for a drink and had to repeat myself atleast three times to get a whisky and coke, the crew either are dumb or act dumb and donít want to serve. Hopeless and cold service with no interest to serve. NEVER SHALL I FLY TURKISH AIRLINE AGAIN AND SHALL ENSURE ALL FAMILY AND FRIEND DONíT TRAVEL ON IT ALSO. RATE TURKISH 1 OUT OF 10

5. The food that was served for breakfast in the flight was scrambled eggs, mushroom and yogurt. Now I could never imagine one could mess up such a simple breakfast.

a. Normal so called world class airlines offer a choice in all meals but I guess Turkish Airlines is world class only by name. There was no choice for breakfast.
b. Breakfast had scrambled eggs which were cold, underdone and runny, never seen that before.
c. Breakfast had mushrooms which were cold, too salty and very mushy and soggy.
d. Breakfast had yogurt with one piece of fruit. The yogurt was sour and dry, the only good thing was the one piece of fruit, YES JUST ONE PIECE OF FRUIT, on top of the yogurt.
e. There was no sausage or any other regular breakfast items.
f. The coffee was cold and on requesting for change was shown a face by the crew as if I asked for the moon.

6. The take-off and landing was atrocious and very dangerous. Very wobbly and extremely sudden. NEVER SHALL I FLY TURKISH AIRLINE AGAIN AND SHALL ENSURE ALL FAMILY AND FRIEND DONíT TRAVEL ON IT ALSO. RATE TURKISH 1 OUT OF 10

7. The flight was late by over 1 hour 45 minutes and I missed my connection at the Istanbul to Dubai thanks to the delay in taking off from Houston by Turkish Airlines. The aircraft crew had no information how to handle such a situation and told me to go meet the ground staff. The ground staff kept sending me from one person to the other and were totally curt, rude and unhelpful as if they doing me a favour. Very disorganised and can't say enough that they were uncaring.

a. Even on requesting that I have an early appointment in Dubai and that they should give me an earlier flight, which was available, they gave me an alternate flight for almost 6 hours later. They were rude and indifferent and totally, totally unhelpful.
b. When asked what should I do for 6 hours at the airport they only showed me the shoulder and said get your meal couponís from room / counter no. 215. I asked for a hotel room which is mandatory they denied it, I Kept looking for room / counter no. 215 it and asked for it many times but no one was ready to help. Eventually on finding the room / counter no. 215 was given a so called meal voucher for one burger, some fries and one coke. Just shows how much Turkish Airlines cares.
c. Kept sitting on uncomfortable chairs at a very dirty airport with no rest for the last over 24 hours waiting for a 12:05 AM (Istanbul Time) flight while I was supposed to be Dubai at 12:05 AM (Dubai Time).

8. Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Dubai was no different.
a. After waiting for 6 hours at the airport for a delay caused by Turkish Airlines and no fault of mine the person at the gate didnít let me board saying that I had no visa for UAE. Even though I explained to them many times that an Indian passport holder with valid US Visa gets visa on arrival at UAE they kept bossing me around and one gentleman came to me and said ďI Am Supervisor I Know Everything, You Cannot Board The Aircraft As You Donít Have VisaĒ. Really thatís how you treat a passenger who has travelled numerous times which could be seen from the passport. It was both embarrassing and harassment for me at the gates with all other passengers looking on. Even though I showed them the rule and also the fact that I couldn't have boarded from the US if the rule didn't apply they were insistent that they know better. Eventually a lady crew came to the rescue and understood my plight, that after half an hour of very embarrassing, frustrating and challenging time.
b. Fresh flight and even that's late by 60 minutes.
c. Inflight crew in flight always looks rushed.
d. The food in the flight was totally bland and tasteless.
e. Kept calling the attendant call button but no one cared. The Airline Inflight crew doesn't care to see the call attendant light. Things have to be asked multiple times.

9. Both my Brand new check in luggageís were mishandled and torn at the back and crushed from all sides.

Very very and very bad 36 hours or was it like eternity. I am writing to you for a claim of US$xxxxx for the undue harassment, aggravation, stress and hassle caused due to the delays and missed connection.

If I do not hear from you within two business days I shall file an official complaint against Turkish Airlines.

Kindly revert at the earliest so as the same is settled without any further issue.
