Thumbs down E-dreams is a nightmare

I watched flight prices (London to FF return) for days--finally booked. My credit card company rejected twice because of the type of site. But each booking of the two rejects showed prices higher than quoted, as the "airline just notified us of price increases". I ended up booking directly with the airline (BA), which was much more reliable.

I returned to E-dreams afterwards to again check the ticket price--and it was back to the original teaser price. The airlines had updated my price while buying, but not the price listed on the current search? I don't think so.

BA you need to pull from this company and not offer your flights there.

Default eDreams? Never again

Let me share my nightmare experience with eDreams. I already recommended them to change their name to eNightmare, it would be much more appropriate.

The premise

I wanted to buy 2 sets of tickets, for me and my wife.
I used 2 perfectly good credit cards, spent over 2 hours on phone with 'help', 4 times went trough purchasing process, send them money via bank transfer, had 3 pending payments on my credit cards, all that simply because I followed directions of eDreams website and eDream personel. Price of tickets rose literally every time I contact them (of course).
At the moment (after 5 days of calls, repeated purchases and so many nerves lost), they are holding my money, i never got my tickets, so I went to Expedia, where I purchased tickets without any problem.

The plot

So I want to get 2 sets of tickets. My wife and I wanted to fly to diferent location in USA, meet in Belize and then fly together back home from Quito. So I visit eDreams, find tickets for my wife and purchase them. No problems so far (if she will be able to fly with them, remains to be seen...).

Five minutes after first purchase I wanted to buy my set of tickets. Purchase is made, reservation is sent to my email. Next day i received an e-mail, that error accured in my reservation.

I checked with my bank – payment is pending for some reason. So I called eNightmare. Everything but friendly person in support centre tell me to buy again (in poor english of course). I wanted to explain situation, but she didn't want to listen – just buy again.

So I buy again.

During the purchase process eNightmare site warns me that one reservation on my name has allready been made with the same dates (as if I wasn't painfully aware of that). I finish my purcase and of course ten hours later again e-mail – error accured in reservation – this time mail came in spanish language, probably to make my purchase experience even better.

So I call again. Slightly friendlier person tells me that there is a problem with America Airlines and I should try to use different Credit card. I asked, what to do with previous pending reservations – he assures me that those are not a problem.

So my third purchase with second credit card. Price went up for 100 euros already. Not to mention that price advertised was never equal to price charged (60 eur eDream commision, 7 eur commision for credit card payment , and who knows what else .) Again after 12 hours mail (in spanish of course) that something went wrong. I called again (eNightmare phone number allready on speed dial). So this person explains me that problem is in many booking pending (my previous purchases). I asked him to terminate those bookings, so I can try again. He promised to do so (I should know better...)

So my forth purchase. Immediately I knew that problems are coming – again message about previous booking pending. ž

So I call the friendly stuff of eNightmare again, asking them what to do. He inform me, that there is an option to make a bank transfer to them. Yupiiii!. So they sent me info where to transfer money, and I do so (15 minutes after my credit card purchase attempt. I sent them scan of tranfer document, as they instructed me to do. To be sure (after all, I do have some bad experiences with them), I call them to confirm the payment.

This time I even get a nice person, who is kind enough to inform me, that:

1. Ticket price on reservation is not correct and is higher that one on reservation (?)
2. bank payment will reach them no later than in four days and there is no way that my reservation will be still active in four days.

WTF – so why did your coleuage directed me to send bank transfer if it is virtually impossible to pay for tickets trough bank transfer? Of course she didn't know.

Next day i receive SMS message, that credit card payment was confirmed with American Airlines. So I send an email begging them to solve my problem.
They had my money I even gave them flexible dates for some of my flights, so they it would be easier for them to find tickets. The response was that I should deal with American Airlines alone and that they will refund me money I transfered. So I asked myself, why they are charging me 60 eur of commision if i need to argue with AA myself....

That was enough for me, I went to Expedia and bought tickets without any problem.

At this moment I have 3 payments to eDream pending on my cards (not so worried), hoping that they will refund me my bank transfer money (quite worried), tickets cost me 300 euro more, I spend over 50 EUR on phone calls, lost several hours of my life, not to mention my agitation and frustration....

Would I recommend eDreams? Only to people inclined to masochism.

After thinking she had secured cheap tickets, the reality of the prices was way higher when the breakdown of tickets was shown and their initial prices shown are a complete mis-representation.
However, she booked the tickets at the end of December for flights in April for them all. In January she recieved an email saying that she needed to send a copy of their passports and a copy of her credit card, both back and front!! She replied by email to them saying that she would not send both sides of the credit card to anyone, and never heard anything back. After 4 emails from her to eDreams she became worried as it was now February and no tickets had been sent. She then tried calling but no number seemed to get her to the right department and she was calling expensive premium numbers with no success.

Finally we found a number to get through and the female member of staff told her that her tickets had been cancelled, because she had not sent the copy of her card and passport as requested!! When my daughter explained again that for data and security reasons she could not send out her card, the woman member of staff became very rude and told her she must send it or tickets would not be sent!!

After worrying moments my daughter has checked her card statement and believes that by some stroke of luck, the money did not actually get taken out for the tickets, although is awaiting full confirmation form the card company. They are the lucky ones it seems!
Needless to say we will NEVER use eDreams again.....they are categorically breaking rules for data and security protection.

BEWARE!!! Do NOT send in your card details...and be aware that you may actually not get your tickets!

Dear customer,

We apologize for the inconvenience, due to the high volume of fraudulent internet bookings, we do need to request copy of passport and credit card from time to time. However, I agree that the back of the credit card is not necessary and will definitely recommend to our Fraud department to stop asking for it, as we understand our customer's concerns.
We hope to have a future opportunity to display our excellent customer service skills we are known for. For any additional comments please do not hesitate in contacting us.

... of course I sent refund my money email to my 'eDreams case worker' and to email stated above. As to be expected, no one replied. Maybe you should spend less time answering forum complaints against your company and more time on improving your support service. That would probably lower number of forum complaints in the first place....

Default Good Review for eDreams

I'm sorry some of you had bad experiences... but I would like to share mine..... My friend recommended this site to me as I was looking for tickets from Madrid to Torino. I found a good deal and everything worked out just fine. I m happy to learn that eDreams is also offering deals in the US. I will definately check their fares for my next trips.

Default phone number?

Hi
I just had a similar problem with eDreams and I try for hours to find a phone number to contact them but I couldn't find any apart from the expensive one. Would you be kind to tell me which number did you use? Would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

Default Complaint procedure

Personally, I was quite happy with eDreams and I often buy my tickets with them. However, I also dislike their non-transparent price policy. I noticed that different eDreams sites have different charges: e.g. edrems.fr, edreams.com, edreams.uk, edreams.de, edreams.it often all have different charges. So I check them out and sometimes purchase tickets in French, other times in German or English.
Anyway, if you feel like reporting them you may find useful reading about the online air travel booking price transparency right (just scroll to the bottom)

Both of these posts were written by eDreams using a fake account to counter the negative publicity they are receiving on AirlineComplaints.org.

They are scammers.

Default eDreams = eNightmares

There can be no doubt that eDreams is one of the worst examples of online robbery. They offer to book your flights for you. I chose to use them as I wanted inbound and outbound flights with different airlines and eDreams seemed to make this easier. Their booking and credit fees are quite high but I thought the convenience was worth it. WRONG. They booked my inbound flights (for six people) and reserved by outbound flights. About 24 hours later they emailed to say the outbound flights were cancelled. OK - I can sort something out myself BUT they kept the booking fees and credit fees (about £75) for the flights they did not book! That cannot be right! I have complained with vigour to no avail. They REFUSED to provide the contact details of the customer service manager or indeed anyone in a position of authority. I guess in a way, I was lucky. It is £75 not the end of the world. But be warned: EDreams is a rogue organisation and the internet is full of horror stories. DO NOT USE and if you care about your friends, tell them

There have been loads of complaints about these scammers, and they even tried to bombard this message board with fake "positive" reviews, but the administrator caught them and banned them from here. There have been attempts at enforcement against them.. you could also write to

Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea. División de Calidad y Protección al Usuario. Avda. General Perón 40, Acceso B, (Recepción planta 1a)
28020 MADRID

Tel.: + 34 91 396 82 10 http://www.seguridadaerea.es/

They may not be able to help, but the more official complaints the more likely enforcement action can be taken. They should be shut down.

Did you query the charges with your credit card company? You may be able to try that, but I think the overall purchase has to be over £100. If the total was more than £100 you may be able to do something through that.

Yesterday I booked two flights through eDreams, but unfortunately, within 10 minutes a personal emergency arose.
I immediately phoned them to cancel my flights, only to be told that they didn't cancel flights from budget airlines (only one of the two flights was such).
I have spoken to both of the airlines at length (2 / 3 phone calls to each) and they tell me that they cannot cancel any flights made through a travel agent and that eDreams must be responsible for the cancellation.

eDreams not only positively refused to cancel my flights, even though I rang them in less than 15 minutes from having made the booking, but they were also quite rude on the phone. I am a pensioner and I have just lost over 300 euros.

I am looking for a way to post this across the web - this company should not be allowed to continue ripping people off in this way !!!

Default Never use Edreams again

I bought a ticket from Egypt to Italy with a transfer in Paris, France, on Edreams. At the airport they denied my boarding saying that a new French regulation didn't allow passenger with family permanent resident of another European country to transfer in France. It never happened before and I always change connection in France or in other European countries. So I had to buy a new ticket, a direct fly to Italy. Once I arrived to Italy I contacted Edreams in US, where I bought the ticket, and they told me I couldn't have any refund because I was denied boarding because of the documents. I explained them in several emails that my documents were fine and that the airline company told me they were agree to refund the ticket, because it was their mistake, but that Edreams was the one that needed to ask for it. After more than two months of writing to Edreams to have my rights, Air France, the airline company that denied my boarding, wrote to me to say it was my right to be reimbursed and compensated for the error they did at the check in in the airport. Edreams was insisting say that they applied for the refund but that AF refused. In another email AF wrote me that they have checked and Edreams never asked for that refund. I wrote back to Edreams asking for explanation, the refund of the ticket to go back to Cairo, that automatically they make me lose, and a compensation because for the problem they caused me. They replied without answering my questions and saying that they closed my file!
