Flight no. EY 182 Y256 Dear Sir/Ma'am, On 05/25/2016, my parents were traveling back from USA (SFO) to India( CCU) via a stop-over at Abu Dhabi. Upon their arrival in Kolkata on 05/26/2016 night, they proceeded to the baggage claims area only to discover, to their utter dismay, that 4 of their checked-in luggages had not arrived in India. They immediately brought it to he notice of the airlines staff in Kolkata, about their missing baggage, and helplessly had to leave for home that night without their bags. My mom had her important medicines packed in the bag, which she is supposed to take every morning. However, since this situation was most uncalled for and very unexpected of Etihad, she had not kept any extra medicine in her hand bags, thinking of taking them once she would land in Kolkata. However, she had to go a day without her medicines, due to this irresponsible behavior of the airlines, since these medicines are not easily available in the market all the time. However, my parents received theirs bags the next night (after 28hours), but they realized that one of the bags had been tampered with. The lock was broken and things inside were in a mess. The chocolates were mishandled and in the process they had melted and damaged a few new clothes. Their luggage was damaged as it bore the testimony of mishandling which didn't seem like any normal baggage treatment. It looked as if it had been maltreated and goofed up with. Needless to say I did not expect this type of service, and resultant damage, from Etihad ever. I really expect some immediate compensation for the damage and delay, and repair or reimbursement for your mishandling of my luggage. We, travelers select for ourselves, the most convincing and convenient carriers to travel on, please don’t give us, a reason to avoid selecting your company. Sincerely , ODawn |
