When I told a Qantas check-in agent on Nov 16 that my bag had been damaged on the flight over on Nov 13, I was told to wait until I got home to report it since they would have to take the bag for repairs. I reported it on Dec 6 and was denied because it wasn't documented within 7 days. Why didn't the Qantas agent know that? Or was it a nice way to delay so the claim would be denied. Now I know not to trust an agent and go to their web site to check out the rules.
