US Airways is the worst internationally
We had a terrible experience with US Air. They cancelled our flight on May 27, 2011, from Venice to Philly and then made us wait for eight hours in a non-air conditioned area, where we stood in line to get vouchers for a hotel. There were well over 100 people in line. We were given no explanation about what was happening, and the sole food court ran out of food while we sat and sweated. We had to call a US Air number in the US to rebook, again standing in line to use a phone. After being loaded on buses to go to hotels, one person went from bus to bus to check names, which took another hour. We arrived the airport at 9:30 am and got to our hotel at 6:00 pm and were eventually given a very bad meal. We had to get on a bus at 5:00 am the next morning, as we had been given an itinerary that was much longer. Also, US Air lost our one checked bag on our flight to Europe, and lost both of our checked bags on the flight home. In both cases, it took two days to get our bags back.
