Aren't you tired of the system that sells a ticket for a listed price and then encountering additional fees for the privilege of choosing which available seat will be yours? Spirit charges just for the option to select, or randomly seats as many passengers as possible three across, even leaving whole rows empty.
Now American has "premium" seats for an extra $14. Recently only premium seats were available on my flight. Well, unless they're going to make me hang onto the wing, I have to get one of those seats, so I'm not paying. I'll take potluck when I show up. Let's all stop cooperating with this. Tell me what my fare is and be done with it. |

it doesnt bother me. If only premium seating is left available i just leave it, go to the gate and chances are you're going to get one of those seats at no charge. I have gold status on AA so i get the premium seats for free, however on delta (since i rarely fly them) i dont. im flying on delta tomorrow and the only seats available from msp-mco are premium seats for $39...nah, i'll take my no seat and wait until i get to the airport, you usually get a better seat anyway. If an airline wants to charge for the seats closest to the front, whatever. thats why its an option if you want to pay or not
