Unhappy Customers keep you flying!!!

WHY are you charging for luggage? What happened to US Air remembering that the people flying are, in fact, your CLIENTS???
I can live with the tiny soda cup and the tiny peanut bag being thrown to me out of a garbage bag (low class by the way) but you have joined the rest of the "Airline Pirates" and are holding your clients hostage due to their baggage. You have now become a price gouger along with the others- and I thought Continential and Southwest was bad!! I will be checking with UPS to see about sending my luggage through them- even if it costs more. I refuse to be held up because I have a suitcase. Will you be joining Spirit's pettiness and start charging for over-head luggage?
I am so sad that US Air has not managed to stay true to the people who keep them flying.

USAirways did not just start charging for luggage. They have been charging for luggage for awhile now.

As per the statement "customers keep you flying". The airline keep adding fees and raising fees because so far they haven't seen the fees cause a decline in passengers. If people would stop flying maybe they would do something about it.

Chris,
Whilst there is some merit in this argument, there are some problems with it. Many passengers do not have the option to "not fly" as there is no other viable alternative. By building up huge "fortress hubs", the airlines creates effective monopolies. If you lived in Charlotte and decided to boycott US Air, you would find your choices in terms of timings and availability to travel anywhere severely restricted.

The exploitation of local monopolies, used by all major airlines, effectively robs the customers of their power. Until the airlines are regulated, this will not change.

Airlines make most of their money off of cargo such as commercial or ex car flying overseas etc they do not make a lot of profits from passengers. Can you not tell by how they run them?

Keith... that is rubbish. Would you like to post anything which might substantiate your claim?
