Bags never left airport, leaving the country in a few days!
This morning my aunt left MSP at 6:30, a 30-minute delay after a power outage left no baggage carousels functioning and all luggage had to be manually transported.
She arrived in Sacramento, after a transfer in Denver with no luggage— and no support, no offer to help her get a toothbrush and clean clothes, and no indication of where the bag might be or when I would arrive. She’s called the number several times and the hold times keep getting longer, so she gives up. We’ve gone to the website and downloaded the app as suggested by United, but there is no helpful information.
Not only did she not get a toothbrush, comb, or even just a quick explanation of United’s policy to reimburse costs while baggage is missing (which I only found from googling), she is flying back home to Australia in a few days and is worried her bag won’t arrive before she has to leave again! She’s booked on a United flight to LAX before flying Quantas to Sydney, but she reeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy doesn’t want to get on a connecting flight with UA after the complete lack of service or even compassion offered by United agents. (The woman at SMF said, “It’s not our fault,” when my aunt expressed her mounting frustration that the agent couldn’t even tell her when the next flight from MSP would arrive in Sacramento.)
