We traveled to Malaga to Budapest and returned flights through Rome from Budapest, with WizzAir
1- has become usual to get hidden costs even to get charged for the printing of the boarding pass. The fare is one price the seat and the right to seat another is another, and for every piece of luggage even if it’s a bag pack and or a carry on cabin, each of the carries a cost of 50-100 euros. Not a cheap airline! Would describe it as a deceiving company.
2- once in Budapest airport, knowing that our flight was cancelled, and talking to the costumer service in WizzAir representative, very little conversation occur in reality, with a patronizing and condescending tone, we were handed a plastic handout, informing us that each ticket is not interconnected and the company considers the purchase as independent air travels and they were not responsible for the delays, in any way or form.
3- Finally we were referred to another representative, which explained that they could help, but we needed to cancelled the connection flight from Rome to Malaga, which obviously arriving at 4:20 pm and catching the next flight within 10 minutes of connecting flight would be impossible. The delays were because of trouble with the airplane originally, not related to weather or unexpected circumstances. Her options was to cancel the connecting flight in pretty much purchase another set of three tickets!
Without the regulation of the governmental institutions, this would be impossible to enforce the rights of the customers; we need to post and inform the general public about these kind of shady companies that sell themselves as cheap affordable and simple to navigate. An elderly person without the knowledge of technology will be at the mercy of these almost “pirates companies “.
